Road outside St. Hughes School to be reffered to Highways over deterioration
Cllr Will Frass shares his dissapointment that AMEY does not agree that Park Road needs resurfacing.
Many of you will have seen the top surface of the road, as you drive away from the station towards St Hugh's, has completely gone in places.
The white road markings are holding the tarmac together in places, so the potholes have sharp edges to clunk in and out of.
Obviously I am trying to get this stretch re-surfaced, or at least patched.
Safety issue
The potholes are distracting some drivers, and so close to the Zebra Crossing for St Hugh's, there's a safety issue.
This is why I'm trying to persuade Trafford it needs urgent attention.
"Not actionable"
This is the brick wall I'm coming up against with Amey:
Subject: RE: Park Road - danger on approach to St Hugh's zebra crossing
Dear Councillor Frass, It is wearing course stripping and therefore not actionable under the current safety policy.
Obviously I've referred them to the higher risk because it's near a school and zebra crossing, and Amey have said their inspector told them:
They concede that the area is suffering constant deterioration and once again they have passed this to the highway engineers for further consideration for patching / resurfacing works.
I'll update everyone if when I make more progress.
