Collapsed Grove Lane wall to be rebuilt
Cllr Will Frass chases Trafford Council to rebuilt the collapsed wall which is blocking the pavement.
I have chased this again, since Trafford Council just left the pile of stones in the pavement!
The good news is the wall is currently scheduled to be rebuilt at the beginning of May (still a little while to wait...)
The reason for the delay is they wanted a stonemason who can use traditional techniques to restore it to match the rest of the old wall (e.g. lime mortar).
Why did it collapse?
Basically the hedge was pushing it out.
They will have to take out some hedge to work on it. They're putting some drainage behind the new wall and restoring the hedge afterwards.

Update (23 May 2023)
I optimistically shared news that Amey were due to repair the wall in early May. But, after I chased Amey last week - to point out the deadline and been and gone - they said it will be early June.
The coordinator for this project sent us a map circling the car park next to the Tennis Courts, which they will need to use as a 'site base' for the work - so the carpark will be closed while they work on the wall.
Residents have been emailing to ask for updates, and I was about to share that news...
...but I am glad I didn't share that, because we've just been told the date has been pushed back yet again!
Now the repair isn't going to start until around 13th June ... and it'll take a month.
That wall collapsed on 11th March - I make that 4 months before it's back up.
Very frustrating.
